Growing Africa’s Great Green Wall

The land is in trouble — desertification, biodiversity loss, groundwater depletion, ecosystem collapse. The effects on human society are poverty, mass migration and conflict. We need real solutions - a deep restoration that goes beyond just planting trees. It means redesigning the way we live, grow, and interact with the land. Every place that's ailing needs a site-based regenerative solution that addresses the problems in a thoughtful and sophisticated way. This is where Permaculture comes in — where sustainable food, water, and life systems are developed to nourish people while at the same time enhancing natural ecosystems, biodiversity, and restoring watersheds. Thankfully, there are incredible demonstrations at small and large scales around the planet - from deserts to jungles, from wild lands to cities. The communities and sites featured in our videos demonstrate that we have the solutions. It’s time to help scale these projects up by providing them with the funding to expand their successes and stimulate new initiatives. This is the work of the Earth Repair Fund. Join us.
